Acts Open Mike Church

This is not just any plug . . . This is something very different and exciting that will be happening on 20th Febuary in Sheffield at The Showroom Café Bar, Paternoster Row.
(1 min walk from train & bus stations, nr Sheffield Hallam Uni)

NB: Your name doesn't need to be 'down.' You just need to turn up, perform if you want to, and (hopefully) enjoy yourself!

Whether you are a poet, musician, dancer, singer, comedian, gargler, storyteller, rapper, puppeteer/ventriloquist or something equally exciting (or even if you are none of these things but you just fancy a go at something or want a great night out), then ACTS Open Mic Church is for you! It is a friendly, classy place, slap BANG in the heart of Sheffield. If you are near the bus/train station, just look for the big blue lights. It's a relaxing environment where the food is great and the drinks are fairly-priced. There may even be some good acts too!

So, why 'ACTS' you may well ask? Well, in the Bible, the book of Acts is where the Christian Church began. ACTS Open Mic Church is a new expression of that, and it's open mic, so it'll be great. It also refers to the acts there will be on the night, so it's a sort of double-barrel thing.

WARNING! SOME PEOPLE MAY PRAY! AND OTHERS MAY SING CHRISTIAN SONGS! BUT UNLIKE IN MANY CHURCHES...

-No one will expect you to do either
-No one will come up to you with a false smile pretending everything in the world is completely perfect
-No one will complain when you sit in 'their seat'
-No one will try to take money from you (except perhaps the bar staff)
-No one will expect you to do anything or behave in a certain way.
